not a teacher.
Pip is a finch: small, curious, always building. It knows your timetable, remembers what you found hard last week, and asks before it tells. Get a question wrong and it gives you a hint, not the answer. Get stuck three times and it will just show you, and make a note to bring it back next week.
How it works
No forms. Pip finds the rest.

Say your school.
Type a few letters and pick it. Pip looks up the term dates, the awarding body and which stage you are at, so nobody fills in a form.

Snap your timetable.
A photo is enough. Week A and Week B, the lot. From then on every plan is built around what you actually have tomorrow.

Tell it how school went.
Got 18 out of 40 on a test? The school app stops there. Pip asks which questions, works out the pattern, and brings the same idea back with different numbers until it sticks.

Three things a day, most days. By the end of S4 that is a nest built twig by twig, and a very clear view of what you are good at.

Habits first
Daily plans, small wins, and a quiet record of which subjects feel easy. Broad General Education, no exam course yet. Ready for Senior Phase choices in the spring of S3.
- S4
National 5
The first diet, sat a year earlier by age than a GCSE. Most courses carry an assignment with its own school deadline, not just the question papers. Prelims land in winter.
- S5
Higher
One year, one set of exams, and the grades most university offers are actually made on. Fincho keeps last year's Nat 5 gaps in view, because Higher builds straight on top of them.
- S6
Advanced Higher and UCAS
Deeper subjects with an investigation to run, alongside a UCAS application you are making with results in hand. Scottish degrees usually run four years, which changes what the entry requirements ask for.
Why not just use ChatGPT?
It will answer anything.
That is the problem.
It knows your actual course.
Course content comes from your own course specifications. Term dates come from your school's own website, the diet dates and results day from Qualifications Scotland. Every one is shown with the page it came from and the day we checked it. A general model will still call it the SQA, which stopped existing in February 2026, and will hand you an English exam timetable without noticing.
It only talks about learning.
Pip stays on school. Anything else gets one friendly sentence and a nudge back. Answers come after hints, and when it does give the working it says so. You are not handing a thirteen year old an open-ended chatbot and hoping.
