About Fincho

Fincho is a small company with a narrow aim: help a secondary school student run their own studying, from the first year of secondary school to the day they leave for university, without a parent standing over them.

It is operated by Cogria Ltd (company number 17019182), registered in England and Wales, London. The founders are the parents of two students, one in Year 9 and one in Year 7, at ordinary English state schools. Fincho was built for them first. Everything on this site was tried at our own kitchen table before it was offered to anyone else.

What Fincho is

Fincho is a study companion in the shape of a chat. The AI inside it is called Pip. Pip knows the student’s school, timetable, courses and reports, plans each day around what is actually happening at school, and helps with the work itself, hint first, answer last.

What we will not do

• Read the chat to parents. A student’s conversation with Pip is theirs. Parents see when Fincho was used and how much, plans, practice results and grades. Never the messages.
• Do the homework. Pip will not write the essay or hand over the answer. It will get a student unstuck, one step at a time.
• Talk about anything but learning. School, subjects, study habits, exams, what comes next. Everything else is politely turned back.
• Plug into the school’s systems. We do not connect to homework platforms or school portals. The student tells Pip how school went, which is the point.

Where the information comes from

Fincho is written separately for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The school years, the qualifications and the deadlines are genuinely different, and a find and replace does not produce a Scottish page.

Term dates come from the school’s own website. Exam dates come from the awarding bodies and UCAS. Subject content comes from the published specifications. Whenever Pip shows something it fetched, it shows where it came from.
